Panama City Beach, Fla., Kicks Off 2007 Spring Break Safety Campaign

Panama City Beach, Fla. (March 6, 2007) – As the 2007 Spring Break season quickly approaches, Panama City Beach is launching its “Celebrate Safely” Campaign. Now in its fifth year, the campaign features the slogan, “Not a break from common sense – Celebrate safely.” This message is prominently displayed in Panama City Beach on billboards, posters, fliers and in public service announcements to reach the 250,000 – 300,000 spring breakers Panama City Beach anticipates this season, beginning on March 3, 2007.

“The continuous success of the campaign has repeatedly encouraged students to enjoy the destination and its beautiful beaches, while remaining safe,” said Bob Warren, president and CEO of the Panama City Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We are honored to have been chosen as the students’ Spring Break destination and hope they will realize that they can have fun during Spring Break, while also using common sense.”

Spring Breakers will have the opportunity to enjoy beaches, seaside restaurants, theme parks, thrill rides, dance clubs and more. Oceanfront concerts, fashions shows, and a variety of nightlife events will be hosted by various resorts and by the Panama City Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Panama City Beach boasts 27 miles of sugar-white sand edging the clear, emerald-green waters of the Gulf of Mexico and St. Andrews Bay. Last year, the Northwest Florida destination was recognized as one of America’s most Beautiful Beaches by Condé Nast Traveler. Panama City Beach also ranks as a top U.S. beach destination with USA Today, The Travel Channel, Southern Living, Dr. Beach and the Clean Beaches Council. Family attractions, championship golf courses, sporting events, award-winning dining, predictably sunny weather and a vast number of recreational activities draw visitors to this seaside destination annually.
