Concert Series Under the Stars in Panama City Beach, Fla.

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (May 21, 2007) – Start your summer right with free concert series under the stars in Panama City Beach, Fla.

“Groovin’ on the Green,” begins in downtown Carillon Beach, Memorial Day, May 28, 2007, and continues through Sept. 2. The Pier Park Concert Series runs every Thursday, May 31 - Aug. 30, 2007 at Aaron Bessant Amphitheater. Performances range from reggae and county to rock and blues. So bring a blanket and cozy up with family and friends. You’ll enjoy cool ocean breezes and great grooves at these live, weekly jamfests all summer long. (See schedules below for dates.)

The beachy tunes of the Conch Republic launch the “Groovin’ on the Green” series Memorial Day, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., at 100 Carillon Market Street in downtown Carillon Beach. Concerts are scheduled for Monday evenings, June - August. Offering pristine beach, lake and parks, this charming community is located on the West End of Panama City Beach.

What better way to sway into summer than to the reggae island beats of Junior Marvin, formerly of Bob Marley and the Wailers. Junior Marvin kicks off the Pier Park Concert Series, May 31, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. The event takes place at the Aaron Bessant Amphitheater, 16000 Front Beach Road in the heart of Panama City Beach. Be sure to come back on Thursdays all summer long for relaxation or revelry or for a bit of both.

Pier Park is the perfect place to spend an entertaining evening or an entire day. Completed just in time for the summer blockbuster season, the complex's new Grand 16 multiplex (www.thegrandtheatre.com/theatres) opened May 18. The 16-screen movie theater boasts 3,200 seats, digital sound, a game room and a specialty cafe. Take in a movie then grab a bite to eat at Panera Bread, which opened May 20, also in Pier Park.
